This beautiful curly mare is Evelyn’s riding horse. Star has everything you could want in a pleasure horse. She hacks alone, in company, jumps, has beautiful movement and we look forward to concentrating on dressage this summer. Star was extremely aloof when she first came to us. With persistence, she has become that horse who nickers and comes when you go out into the field with a lead shank. She had been used as a hunt horse for a few months when she came to us and it has taken some patience to get her to relax and not take off at a canter down the driveway as soon as you swing you leg over the saddle. Grudgingly we will breed her to Spartacus* for a 2008 foal because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Otherwise, her status as riding mare would have exempted her for motherhood.
