| This wooly mare has been affectionately renamed “Bear” by our daughter. She is a 14.3 H solidly built bay mare. She is intended to be the steady eddy of the herd and will hopefully fulfill the long vacant role of husband horse. We were very fortunate to have purchased her and AF Ariana. Despite her almost 19 years we are toying with the idea of trying for one last foal from her by Spartacus*. She has lovely movement, presence and is so affectionate. Her first experience under saddle at our farm involved a skunk attack by the dogs, lots of screaming and consternation, fording a swollen and muddy spring run off creek, ploughing through deep drifts and she took it all not only in stride, but reveled in being ridden and fussed with. |
